Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ClassQuest (“the Add-on”) is a Google Workspace Marketplace add-on developed by Dynamic Minds Group that helps teachers turn any chapter into a gamified, self-paced quiz, share it with students by a single link or through Google Classroom, and collect scores back into the teacher’s own Google Sheet. This Privacy Policy explains what data the Add-on accesses, why it is accessed, and how it is protected.

We are committed to protecting the privacy of teachers and students. We do not sell, share, or monetise any personal data.

2. Compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy

In addition to the Limited Use commitment above, we make the following promises:

• No AI/ML training. ClassQuest does not use, transfer, or sell any user data obtained from Google Workspace APIs to develop, improve, or train generalised or non-personalised AI/ML models.
• No human review. No employee, contractor, or third party of Dynamic Minds Group reads the contents of teacher Sheets, generated lessons, or student information, except as strictly necessary to (a) provide support at the user’s explicit request, (b) comply with applicable law, or (c) maintain operational security and prevent abuse.
• No content storage. All user and student data remains within the user’s own Google account. We do not retain a central database of teacher Sheet content, generated lesson content, or student information.
• No advertising or third-party transfer. User data is never sold, transferred, or used for advertising, retargeting, or any purpose other than providing or improving the Add-on’s user-facing functionality.

3. What Data We Access

Your Google Account

• Email address, to identify the account holder for licence verification and support.
• Display name, to personalise the experience and sign communications sent from the user’s own account.

Google Drive (drive.file)

• The Add-on creates and manages only the lesson files it generates. It cannot see or open any other file in your Drive.

Google Sheets™

• The Add-on reads the spreadsheet you currently have open to build a lesson, and writes student attempt records (name, email, score, time, game mode) to a results tab in your own Sheet. It does not access any other spreadsheet.

Google Classroom (optional)

• When you choose to use it, the Add-on lists your courses, posts the lesson link as an assignment, and syncs scores back by matching student email addresses. It is never used without your action.

External Requests (script.external_request)

• The Add-on contacts the Dynamic Minds Group licence server to verify your licence and deliver the curriculum pack you are entitled to. Only your licence key and the chapter request details (board, class, subject, chapter, language) are sent, never student data or Sheet content.

Students do not install or sign in to the Add-on. They open the lesson link in a browser and, depending on the teacher’s setting, enter a name and email or sign in with Google so their score can be recorded in the teacher’s Sheet.

We do not maintain any central database of student information or document content.

5. Third-Party Services

Dynamic Minds Group Licence Server

To verify licences and deliver curriculum packs, the Add-on transmits a small number of operational events to our secure server over HTTPS. These are limited to your account email and display name (to identify the licence holder), per-request counters and error codes, and your plan type. We do not send student names, emails, any other student-identifying information, or the content of any lesson, answer, or score.

This information is used only to operate your licence, troubleshoot technical errors, and monitor reliability. It is never used for advertising, retargeting, training AI models, or any purpose unrelated to providing the Add-on.

No runtime AI

Curriculum questions are generated inside the lesson in the student’s browser from pre-authored templates. No student answers or interactions are sent to any AI service while a student plays.

6. Children’s Privacy

ClassQuest is a tool for teachers, not students. Students do not install or sign in to the Add-on; they only open a lesson link the teacher shares. Student data is processed under the teacher’s authority and the school’s existing Google Workspace for Education terms. Teachers should ensure they have the appropriate consent under their school’s policies before collecting student information.

7. Security

• All communications use HTTPS / TLS encryption.
• The Add-on requests the minimum OAuth scopes required for its functionality.
• The Add-on does not store passwords, OAuth tokens, or other credentials outside Google’s secure session storage.
• You can revoke the Add-on’s access at any time via Google Account permissions.

8. Your Rights

• Access, view, edit, or export your data anytime through your Google Drive and Sheets.
• Deletion, delete the lessons created by ClassQuest from your Drive and uninstall the Add-on.
• Revoke, visit myaccount.google.com/permissions to revoke access at any time.

9. Changes to This Policy

We will notify users of material changes via the Google Workspace Marketplace listing notes and via email to the registered account. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
